How do you check if you have OSA?
If there are symptoms such as morning headaches and daytime sleepiness, it is normal to wonder if you have OSA. Diagnosis is an important step in determining whether you are suffering from OSA.

It is a good choice to go to sleep disorder center. There, a sleep specialist can help you determine the need for further evaluation.

The evaluation usually includes monitoring your breathing and other bodily functions during sleep throughout the night at the sleep center. Home sleep testing may also be an option.
Tests to detect sleep apnea include:

- Nocturnal polysomnography EEG.
For this sleep study, you will need to be connected to equipment that monitors your heart, lung and brain activity, breathing patterns, arm and leg movements, and blood oxygen levels during sleep.
- In-home sleep testing.
Your doctor may provide you with simple tests that can be used to diagnose sleep apnea at home. These tests usually measure your heart rate, blood oxygen levels, airflow and breathing patterns.
If the results are abnormal, your doctor may prescribe a treatment without further testing. However, portable testers do not detect all cases of sleep apnea, so even if your initial results are normal, your doctor may still recommend a polysomnographic EEG.

To find the cause of sleep apnea, a cardiologist (cardiologist) or neurologist (neurologist) must evaluate to determine whether it is CSA, OSA or MSA.
